About Lyaskovetz in BulgariaThe town is situated in the beginning of the Fore-Balkan (Elena Balkan), eastern from the Arbanasi ridge, under the cliff upon which is the monastery St. St. Petar and Pavel, 10 km north-eastern from Veliko Tarnovo, 2 km south-eastern from Gorna Oryahovitsa and 5 km southern from Yantra river. Lyaskovets is on an inclined plane at 192-256 m above sea level. It is opened to east and north to the valley of Yantra river.
The town of Lyaskovets is in Veliko Tarnovo region and is a centre of a municipality with 17000 citizens, that includes the villages of Dzhulyunitsa, Dobri Dyal, Kozarevets, Dragizhevo and Merdanya.
Lyaskovets and its municipality are near the important railway station and the international airport of Gorna Oryahovitsa. The town has a railway station at the Gorna Oryahovitsa - Elena railway. Sofia - Varna (E772) and Ruse - Kardzhaly (E85) highways and Sofia - Varna railway pass through the territory of the municipality.
