Re: registering and insuring a UK car in Bulgaria

Yep - I think you can appreciate that the road to the UK in that car could be strewn with problems - and if it's not worth a lot then why beat yourself about the head over it?... Try to get some more man-with-van-and-trailer prices for transportation but if still no joy, then stick it on a few of th...

Re: registering and insuring a UK car in Bulgaria

No, if you are a UK resident then I'm afraid you can't drive a foreign registered car in the UK, full-stop. It's written in other places, but have a look at this DVLA .pdf (Adobe Acrobat) booklet which is downloadable on the link below. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&...

Re: registering and insuring a UK car in Bulgaria

Do you have permanent/long-term residency of BG or are you still a UK resident? If the latter, then you cannot legally drive a BG-registered car in the UK, although your wife could if she has the appropriate licence and is still a BG resident. If you do have BG residency, then all's well and good on...

Re: Has anybody got a clue, for people who spend 6 months of the year in Bg?

See my rather ancient post here:- http://www.mybulgaria.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=18335&p=365568&hilit=residency#p365568 The white card was superceded by the photocard that many have now. I don't think much has changed (yet) and a UK EHIC card (if you have one) is, I believe, still...

Don't knock it Mat - there's maybe a free cup of milky tea and a biscuit included in the deal.

Ordinarily, the only way to get that is to lose your passport.... :-)

Re: Is anyone still using this site?

Sorry - I can't answer your question directly but in case you aren't aware, Leedarkwood moved to the 'successor site' under the handle 'Bulgarianlily' and last posted there about 3 years ago. But I think you are a member there as well, aren't you? At that time she reported that she was still travell...

Re: Hadji Dimitar

If you haven't already, your best bet would be to ask around the neighbours or visit the local Mayor. But be aware that doing so could well up the price if you ever do find the owner. Of course, I don't know why your friend is particularly interested in that one house, but as I'm sure you know, hous...

Hi Elvis Great name by the way, love Elvis. I also used Oggy, great guy. Last I heard of him, he was living and working in the UK but given up the transport. I haven't used this company but have heard only good things about them and maybe using them myself at some stage. http://www.uk2bg.co.uk/ The...

Re: Removal from North Germany to Dobrich

Hi eshek - and welcome! If you want some prices, you'll need to give some more details such as how much stuff you have (in m3) and, perhaps, the weight. Unfortunately, there are not as many transport companies working between Germany and BG as there are between the UK and BG. However, one company wh...
