a good private cover is highly recommendable as when you are a good few miles from home,in the event of a crisis it is reassuring to know everything is covered Except that pre-existing medical conditions most probably will not be covered by a private policy, so 7red is correct to mention the new EH...

UK Travellers will need a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) when travelling to Europe. Are you sure about this? I can find nothing about it being "necessary" in order to travel through the respective countries according to the web site you refer to. Desirable, yes; in fact the http://www.dh.gov...

they seem to offer lower interest rates on 'tax free' accounts. Strictly speaking off-sore accounts are not tax free to residents of the UK, BG or anywhere else. They simply provide a means for savings to be hid from tax authorities, such as in the UK that would tax them if they knew of their exist...

Are you supposed to tell them ? If you are liable to pay tax, and you are not under the PAYE rules, then yes. If you are not sure, then you can either ask the Revenue, or just make a self-assessment return setting out your circumstances with a covering letter. You never know but they may tell you t...
