Re: Problems ending a mobile contract

“caveat emptor” should be in every English to Bulgarian translation book. In English language it has the translation of “Buyer Beware”. I was watching TV last year, The Money Programme,as I recall. A desk was set up in a large shopping precinct in Manchester. On offer was lifelong price for mobile p...

Re: Problems ending a mobile contract

Vivacon is hard work. This was for internet. Our experience with the scoundrels was very similar to yours. This happened to us about 8 years ago. Basically we went to shop in Varna in May, signed and paid for 12 months, though we knew that we would only need it for 6 months as we were returning to U...

Post Brexit. What will status of EHIC be?

Has anybody got a strategy for post Brexit in regards to health issues, whilst staying in Bulgaria? People, who live over there full time would probably have the option of paying into the Bulgarian Social Security system. However, there are many people (myself included) who go there for 6 months onl...

Re: cost of holiday in bulgaria

LOL Malarkey, it is good to hear from a reader of the "GRAUNIAD". I only use it for the crosswords,(free). I have visited Bulgaria many times over 13 years and it is still full of surprises. Swmbo could not do a winter there, but we look forward to go back there every May. The flights etc....

Re: cost of holiday in bulgaria

Gawd help us!!
I travel 1800 miles to getaway, then the BBC have to follow me.
Last year, it was the "den of iniquity", then this year it is "the most remarkable place on the planet".
I must admit, that it is not a place that my grandchildren would take me to.

Re: VAT confusion on sale of property

This is bad news. I think that this year, I may have to increase the Insurance Value on my house to cover this VAT. Keep this a secret in case the house burns down, else the Gypsies will want 20 % on top. Still I suppose, that I can put it against Capital Gains (Loss) Tax. I will ask the estate Agen...

Re: Long stay permit.

Does anybody know the format for dying in Bulgaria.? I know, that there are photographs on telegraph poles etc. I missed a funeral in Varna a few years ago, but apparently the coffin was open. Next day they were in the bank arguing about his will. Off subject MOD?? You cannot get a better long stay ...

Re: Street Lighting - Lack Of

My neighbours are Russian,( surrounded).
They have motion sensors all around the place.
They even leave all the lights on, when nobody lives there (except the Roma security guard and his tribe)

Re: BREXIT POST HERE FOR GENERAL DISCUSSION / DEBATE

On the other hand, if the Remain Voters had had the majority, it would have sent a message to Brussels and Berlin, to "carry on regardless". The Repeal Act will provide thousands of "nit pickers and bean counters" to have a field day. So you see it's not really a Repeal Act. (Jus...
