Re: travelling to bulgaria in 2020

Hi Truckyboy (and whoever), thanks for the interesting info about driving. Things are beginning to relax in the UK and elsewhere now. We'd have less trouble if we had bought in Spain! Never mind, the Eurocrats will soon be opening things up as if there was nothing to worry about, and for most people...

Re: travelling to bulgaria in 2020

Wow, driving eh? Don't think I'd be up for that myself: constant comfort breaks, distracting sights en route, weather anxiety... oh, and a RHD car! Six days off the time to spend in BG...no wonder people fly. Yours is now the safest way to go as regards social distancing, but I'd take lots of hand s...

Re: travelling to bulgaria in 2020

BTW not sure how you have gleaned that "only one Brit has died" in BG so far. If you have a breakdown of covid deaths by nationality I would be interested to check it out. Meanwhile, here's a place where the number of deaths can be seen of everyone in all countries (as reported by them). H...

Re: travelling to bulgaria in 2020

Hi Truckyboy, haven't been on here for ages, but being locked down I'm getting around to doing stuff I wouldn't normally think of or have time to do. I think it's interesting how little the coronavirus has impacted BG; presumably the embargo on flights into the country has helped, and the enforcemen...

Re: Cabin Baggage Restrictions

Happy to report that TUI were generous and helpful. Though our hold luggage was 0.6kg over the weight limit of 20kg, and my cabin bag was 0.1kg over the 5kg limit, after a brief consultation with her supervisor, the check-in clerk allowed both items with no surcharge :-) All the same, I wouldn't rec...

Re: Cabin Baggage Restrictions

Thanks Banjo, a very pertinent and helpful response. We fly to CWL on the 28th so I will know for sure one way or the other. I will update here accordingly.
Bon Voyage! 8)

Re: Cabin Baggage Restrictions

Funny how people keep hijacking a thread instead of starting a new one. One of the reasons I have almost stopped using this forum.

Re: Cabin Baggage Restrictions

Thanks for that encouraging reply banjo. You have to wonder why they think weight is more relevant than size, given the huge variation in passengers' weights.
