Re: BREXIT

Haven't done it, but I hear it is quite difficult post-Brexit. You need to produce a High School certificate (which we in the UK don't really have), translated into Bulgarian, I believe. Lots of people are having problems with this, as a) we don't have High School Certificates and b) if people haven...

Re: travelling this year 2021

Yes, I managed to get back for a week, at long last. I don't know about enjoying my break, as I found that my house had been broken into during my absence, and things stolen. First time in nearly twenty years that that had happened. I stayed in Bourgas for a few days and that was really nice. Beach ...

Re: travelling this year 2021

I am booked to fly from Doncaster to Bourgas with Wizz on 10th September. Have had the flights changed twice since I booked, so just hoping that this one will go ahead. Having had seven flights cancelled this year, I am getting a bit fed up with it all now.

Sorry to hear that, Scot. You were the one person I admired when I first started posting on here, along with Dusty, who no longer posts, I believe. I loved your posts about Bulgarian life, and you were always so informative and helpful. I think you will miss Bulgaria very much, as I do when I'm not ...

I spent the last two years looking for a house (UK north east). I wanted something cheap as that was all I could afford, coupled with the fact that at my age I no longer want, or need, to be hampered by a mortgage. Every single property within my price range seemed to be snapped up even before I man...

I used to watch tv programmes in Bulgarian, especially things like the BG version of Wheel of Fortune, where I picked up loads of words, sounds of letters etc. When I lived there, I was fluent enough to cover most things... ordering stuff from builders, menus, the market etc, and holding everyday co...

Good to know, and hopefully the situation won't change before I am driving over in September. I got asked for car docs at the Hungarian border once before, but that is the first time. Will be doing the Romanian route with the dogs. Is there any update on how the motorway through is progressing?

Such a shame this once-great forum has gone the way it has. It was literally a 'bible' for so many of us ten years ago, when we were new to Bulgaria and there was so little information.
