Re: Locks changed

Hi Many thanks for all your assistance. I managed to change the lock myself (with a much stronger one supposedly drill proof etc) by watching u tube videos. I will do as you suggest for draining. I used to have a neighbour do all this but we have had a falling out and he still had keys to the house ...

Locks changed

Hi, Anyone know someone who can change locks on the front door
(UPVC) in the Kyustendil area. My Bulgarian isn’t great so would be helpful in they had basic English.
Also, when draining tanks/toilet etc for winter I believe many people use salt. How much is normal to put down?

Many Thanks

Living alone

Hi Tragically, my wife recently died. I now have some hard decisions to make. We thoroughly enjoyed several months each year at our home in the Kyustendil area. Debating whether to sell or not, but I was wondering if any other expats live alone and how have they found it. I do have good neighbours b...

Kidney Dialysis

Unfortunately, we may soon be needing the services of a haemodialysis unit. Does anyone know of any hospitals/ clinics in the kyustendil area who provide this service. I would be intersted to hear from anyone who has used such a service anywhere in Bulgaria. Also, I would be interested in the cost i...

e mail on the move

If price is not a problem I suggest you buy a 3G mobile you can then email from the phone itself or via your laptop whichever you prefer whilst you are travelling. The 3G is subject to a monthly contract in...

Stalebread We have just purchased a property outside Kyustendil and are interested in the firm you have described. As I am new to the forums apparently I am not yet able to send a pm. Could you please let us have the details? Also, would they be able to do alterations eg could they fit larger window...

Thanks everyone you've been a terrific help. Obviously, I'd rather get supplies local when I can so where are the builders in Kyustendil? I presume they are off the beaten track or I would have probably noticed them by now. Has anyone used any of these local builders? Thanks

Builders needed - Kyustendil area

Anyone recommend any local builders for renovation work? Also, I'm going to be doing some of the smaller jobs myself but need to know where you can buy some of the builders supplies such as plaster. Mr Bricolage doesn't seem to stock such items Thanks
