Re: Planning Permission

My Swimming pool builder tells me planning permission is not required unless you are in Sunny Beach. Tutchy Don't wish to be unkind but you would expect a swimming pool builder to say that wouldn't you? My information comes from my Bulgarian Lawyer, who took the time and trouble to investigate the ...

Ha,ha Adrian, So do i have a spanner in the work's.?? That's one i owe you, but if your giving it to me F.O.C, then lets see it, you could be just after a free drink, :drinkers: Not so much a spanner as a bit of chaff. Assuming that your pool is less than 100 m3 you will need pp but it is apparentl...

Not so fast, Dom You DO need pp for ANY sized pool. Under 100 m3 it is a formality, and costs 15 leva per cubic metere. Over 100 m3 you have to submit plans and alsorts of other documents -it is a painful process. I just discovered this information from my Bulgarian POA last night. I've paid for thi...

Re: not so easy !

I still can't see the economics of it. How much are you going to pay for this pool ? To recoup your investment how much EXTRA will you have to charge in rental ? How many weeks in the year will you need to find tenants if you want to amortise the cost over 5 years ? Leave dreams where they belong -...

Ok, I see from your OP that you don't know how to apply. Who is your contact in BG - Agent? Interpretor? Lawyer? Accountant? POA? Surely there must be someone who can start the ball rolling for you? Drainage Swimming pools are generally only drained once per year, so the vast majority of people who ...

Re: pool

I think most people buying in BG will NOT want pools. People buying village houses WILL want inside bathrooms and toilets though ! And I think you're wrong! Whether the purchase is for private use or for a holiday let, I'm sure the vast majority of buyers are chiefly interested in the hot summer mo...

I am at a loss to know what your problem is. What is stopping you from obtaining planning permission?

Just thought I'd add my weight to the Northern contingent. My half-built house is 5km towards Balcik from Dobrich. I was hoping to post more photos this weekend but I guess the big freeze has stopped work.

Yep, Shopska would be my choice too. It's quite 'normal' compared to some of the wacky salads you can get, and it comes with optional Bulgarian white cheese on the top.

BTW, there's more meat dishes than you could shake a stick at, too.

The restaurants in Varna are like anywhere else - some good, some bad. There is an excellent one opposite the old Macdonalds in the square. It is basically a pizza restaurant but they do loads of other stuff too.

Typical food would be salad - with a glass of rakia!
