The Hotel Jasmin in Simeonovska is my favourite. Very accommodating staff, free pick-up from airport, and their restaurant is WONDERFUL

Julian

Reading the previous posts, it would seem that you have answered Nikki's question regarding what you are looking for, and that would be investment as opposed to lifestyle in BG. :(

Some good posts, and plenty of food for thougt here. Perhaps programmes such as 'A Place in the Sun' have a lot to answer for, as they are encouraging people to invest money all over the place. Have to admit the programme about Bulgaria was what drew me initially, but I decided to go to BG and see f...

Don't think they have a postal service in VT either!!! I posted some cards back to the UK from the central post office in February - my friends are still waiting for them to arrive! :!:

Think it's awful to see the way Brits are ripping off other Brits in this way. I too know of Brits in BG who are taking money to 'look after' property, and in truth, don't even bother to go near the property they are 'looking after' for weeks on end. Unfortunately, not everyone adheres to the old sa...

My agent tells me they just copy and paste the details from other websites, and I am sure this does go on. Not sure where some of them get their asking prices from, though - 'think of a number and double it' could be the answer. I have seen loads of the properties on my agents books advertised elsew...

I agree. If you get the price right, and the flat is comfortable, with a half-decent view from the window, you should get bookings. We always stay in the centre of VT and I think it's a good place to spend a few days. Plenty going on, choice of eating places etc. I am sure you would do okay with ren...

I have looked on loads of Bulgarian property websites - always take an interest on what is selling, and where, just out of curiosity really. Each time I found my house advertised elsewhere, I would e-mail the agent concerned, and tell them that I had now purchased the property, and ask them to remov...

We have just completed our house purchase in bg and that didn't pass without incident :( We viewed our property at the end of Feb and when we arrived home found out the price had increased by 4000 euros - fortunately we saw 2 properties we liked whilst in bg so we refused to pay it and threatened t...

Wandered around Veliko Tarnovo at night on my own - no problems, and always treated respectfully in cafes, restaurants, etc. Good place to be, and felt a lot safer on my own at night than when I lived in Cheltenham.
