Hi Annie Nice to hear about Tom's exploits, and also about May day in Mindya. It sounds really good and enjoyable. Can't wait to get over in June, and looking forward to seeing you, and saying 'hi' properly. Hope my Tony doesn't get roped into things like that when we eventually move out. I think th...

I wasn't that impressed with my one visit to Stara Zagora, but though Kazanlak was a really nice, pretty town, and some of the villages around there seem really nice. :D

If you want a nice little book with both Bulgarian and English, with the pronunciation written in English also, go onto ebay, type in 'bulgarian language' and I think there are some advertised. I have just got a great book 'Bulgarian-English and English-Bulgarian phrasebook. If you can't find it, pm...

We used Bulgarian Properties to look at some properties in Kazanlak last year. and the staff in the office were very good. We did have to arrange our own flights/accommodation etc, but couldn't fault the staff. I think the mileage charge for viewing was refundable if you purchased through them. :D

You ought to try living in Millom - you could live here for 60 years and still be an 'offcomer.' Seriously though, it's great to hear so many positive comments about people relocating and settling so well in BG. I am so full of admiration, especially for people with young children who make the move....

It doesn't help that some handwritten letters totally change when going from capital letters to small - ie, a capital T is written like a small m etc. Highly confusing methinks ...!!!

Have to agree - it is a lot easier to pick it up when you are out there actually talking to people. My estate agent is great - he always makes me try and speak Bulgarian when I see him. Makes a nice change - most of the people want to practice their English on me! Think one of the main obstacles is ...

atahe Talk Now cd-rom is really good, with fun things, quizzes etc. I got mine from Amazon and found it a great start. Think it's also nice to be able to speak a few words to people, without expecting everyone to speak English. I also find listening to the Bulgarian radio good; if you don't understa...
