I have travelled backwards and forwards with my troop three times now and no problems. They loved the snow last winter and had a whale of a time charging around in the orchard. Vet services will vary depending on where you live. I used the vets in Veliko Turnovo and they were great. All spoke good E...

I spent the whole of last year living alone in BG, and six months the year before that. The only time I felt remotely afraid was when two police cars pulled up outside my house in the early hours of the morning, with blue lights flashing. They didn't bang on the gate or anything, and when I opened t...

Hope you are not accusing me of being a property agent, because I am not. I am just a person who has bought and sold a couple of houses in Bulgaria, using agents who I know I can trust.

I guess you don't speak Bulgarian, so when it all goes pear shaped who will be to blame. Sounds like a recipe for disaster =D> No, I don't speak Bulgarian, just English, German and French. Hence I will hire a translator, not the bloke who speaks a little bit of German or English and owes the Mayor ...

Who knows? Usually the weather in autumn is really good, without the heat of high summer. Should still be a lot warmer than UK anyway, although the nights pull in earlier.

Village life - it's great! Mostly friendly people, very welcoming and helpful, especially if you make the effort to fit in, learn the language etc. If you like rural, you will love BG! Scenery, weather (although too hot for some in the summer), lots of fresh fruit and veg, great if you like growing ...

I don't know if JYSK do garden furniture, but they seem to do all sorts of stuff. Just below the big CBA on the way up to the Mall.

Good post, MW, and is very much what I was trying to say. My idea of a 'good' village is one which has shops, people and life, with good communications and good roads so that you can get to a large town relatively easily, and aren't cut off for several months of the year due to snow. I like to...

What I am trying to say is that, unless there are regular stonings, rape and pillage, murders, robberies etc,.... Just to be clear - is this a description of a "good" or a "bad" village? Either way, it sounds exciting.... Dpends which day you ask me, Seedy!!
