It used to be relatively easy and all you had to do was setup a Bulgarian company and get a work permit/residency based on that. Many Brits did this before 2007 and my Ukranian wife did it 3 years ago before we were married. However, they changed the rules this January and removed the possibility of...

We are in a similar situation to you at the moment. Our daughter was born in May 2010 in Varna but as neither of us are Bulgarian, our daughter, Alexandra had Nationality : British put on the birth certificate. This seems to be key as when anyone in authority sees this it's oh - foriegner you must p...

I also just booked this flight for next August. Its 199 euro return with loads of dates next summer at this price.
If you book on opodo.co.uk you can also make the connection 11 hours instead of 40 minutes, if you fancy a look around Bucharest.

I know going the other way (ie flying from Varna), its still possible in the summer. We flew to Germany last year and to get the ticket you had to go to the Bulgarian air charter office upstairs and the guy there gave us a few options A) wait until last minute to see if there was a place - he also t...

It is not just non Bulgarians who pay this tax at scource, it is everyone. The only way to stop this tax being deducted at scource here is to provide your bank with a certificate issued by NAP, they will do this when they receive a certificate from UK Customs and Revenue stating that you have elect...
