If you go into the arrivals terminal for internal flights there is a coffee machine and a snacks machine with normal prices (30-70 stotinki for hot drinks in a plastic cup). :)

It's good to know that the British Embassy is more flexible with the middle names and taht people have had the name dropped (Mark for a girls middle name doesnt sound good!). You can check online (in Bulgarian) to see if you have missing health insurance contributions. This is where doctors check to see if you are up to date. You need a LCN or EGN no. If you fly with wizzair or ryanair a lot and have a uk address, there is a prepaid mastercard with no joining fee and no monthly fees. It's https://www.fairfx.com They also have excellent exhange rates which is good if you travel a lot like me.

I applied today for a new ID card at the passport office in Varna. It was quick and easy and cost 18 Leva. They took my photo and electronic signature and told me that I would have an ID card with a photo and to collect it in 30 days. Hopefully this will make things easier dealing with authorities w...
