thanks for the great replies. maybe it's just nostalgia telling me train travel is much more relaxing and enjoyable than flying, but certainly my recent experiences of flying have made me want to avoid it if at all possible. it's not so much the cramped conditions and recycled air, or the nagging do...

Yes, the option to fly to eastern europe first is a good possibility thanks - probably Budapest is the best bet - for both cheap flights from Manchester and trains to Sofia at the other end. Vienna is another option - with flights to nearby Bratislava also quite cheap. If I do use the train for all ...

UK to Bulgaria by Train

Hi, I've had a bit of a search through the forum and found one or two threads speculating on this subject, but just wondered if anyone on here had actually done this journey? I'm seriously considering this as an option for this summer, for me and the missus to travel over to Sofia. Looking at the 'm...

We've managed to get around the problem - we needed to translate our bulgarian marriage certificate so my wife could open a bank account in her married name, and our existing bank (rbs) said they'd charge us £30-odd quid to do this. We shopped around and TSB translated it for free - only for their u...

Translation of official documents into English

Hi,

Has anyone had any official documents translated from Bulgarian to English in the UK?

I need to get our Bulgarian marriage certificate translated and was hoping someone could recommend a reliable and cheap way of doing this.

All the best, liliputian.

Why do you think so many Brits are able to buy property in Bulgaria? Maybe it's at least partly due to the dreadful way our nation has treated other nations over the years, so that now we have a large middle class with enough spare cash to be able to take advantage of the weaker economies of other n...

We have to change her name on her bank account so she has my surname (she had the account before we got married but we never got round to changing till...

e-bookers still an option MAN-SOF?

Hi, I've searched through here and can't find any mention of e-bookers stopping their Air Bulgaria direct flights from Manchester to Sofia, but I can't find any flights on their website either. I tried a plethora of Thursday and Sunday combinations, but got nothing. I sent an email query via their w...
