BG9374, You're not quite right. In a proper septic tank the bacteria break down the effluent and produce nearly pure water suitable for draining to ground via a system of french drains. The tank itself is water tight. Adding bleach and other such chemicals will stop the bacteriological action, but t...

brianj42, Drilling a small hole is unlikely to allow you to rod properly and you would have difficulty sealing afterwards. Plus future rodding would involve the same procedure. Proper rodding eyes have a sealed hatch that can be easily removed and allow the use of rods. It may be that you can get to...

If the tank is away from the house then digging the ground in the vicinity of the vent pipe should establish the direction of the tank. I would cut the vent pipe a metre or two away from the house and construct a manhole in the pipe run for future rodding if needed. In my view it is essential to hav...

Cows have probably been walking up your street for a hundred years or so, or at least since the village was born. As a newcomer what makes you think you have the right to stop them and why did you buy into a village where such practice is common anyway? It really upsets me that strangers move into a...

The mains supply in BG is, at least similar to, the Continental 2 pin system. The regulations are therefore substantially different to the UK. Within a reasonable travelling distance of where you live there will not be enough Brits. to provide you with a living. There may be some work with Commercia...

If you re-register it in the UK then I would think that any documents relating to BG are then defunct. You may need said log book to do that, but try it with the small one and see what happens!

I have used Spectrum net now for over 4 years. The Burgas office and I think most others speak good English. If you have a fibre optic land line the speeds are fast and relatively cheap. If you do not have a land land line then a form of wifi can be used, with a choice of speeds depending on what yo...

While you are doing it remember to ensure that air can get into and out of the loft space. Ventilation is essential if you do not want mould all over your loft.

Or on the same theme you could turn right at the Sunny Beach traffic lights, through Kableshkovo and thence to Aytos, on to well the other side of Karnobat where there is a major junction with a left turn to Yambol. Be careful of the speed limits between Karnobat and the major left turn. Several reg...

The company that had the Renault franchise on the Sofia road ceased trading a long time ago. It was round the back of the large tyre company premises not too far from the prison, however when I looked a few months back they did not appear to be trading from there either. Given their standard of work...
