Morning Scot47, It was about 3 in the morning after being kept an hour at the boarder checking documents. The car papers were fine but I could not explain that I did not have a driving licence to drive the boat. I was only towing it. I still have 10 Croatian Kuna that may be of use to somebody trave...

Old banger

Morning Yankv8, Tsarevo is 65km south of Burgas on the coast near to the Turkish boarder, being a fairly large village it has most things that you need, it just takes a little time finding them as they are not all in the one street. There are a few really good beaches. On the North side they are bui...

car scrapped

Just passing on some information. The old car made it the 2180 miles, but not without casualties, it lost a wheel trim and broke a mirror that it was transporting in the boat trailer. Scap merchants where willing to buy the car for a 400 lev but a mechanic in the KAT department bit off my hand to be...

Overland 2009

Just completed the drive using the Serbia route, some roadworks in Germany that took the duel carriageway down to 1 lane but apart from that no issues. The road going from Austria to Slovenia was more hole than road and the old escort lost a wheel trim trying to negotiate the 10km or so but still go...

Slovenija vignette

Hi All, Just travelled overland to Burgas via slovenija and Serbia, I was told by the Shell garage on the Austrian / Slovenijan boarder that you could only get a 6 month permit at a cost of 35 euros. Questioned this hard but they where adamant and unfortunately I had not done my research properly an...

Boat insurance

Morning All,

Can anybody help?

I am struggling to get cover for use of a small Ski boat on the Black Sea coast. Has anybody got any local insurance companies who could provide cover?
Currently I am fully insured for travelling but not to put it in the water.

Thanks in advance

Big white horse

I was taken on a introduction trip by a local that passed the big horse displayed on the side of the mountain, he was very proud of the place. I cannot remember the name / location. Could anybody help?

Hi All, Sorry for the delay in replying, I got carried away on some trailer repairs and then forgot about the Sunday posting. I will be heading for Tsarevo, 65k south of Burgas, the car is an Escort turbo diesel with 140K on the clock, it is mechanicals sound and I get it through MOT's spending the ...

Hi dazza65,

I am going from Liverpool at the end of March, keep you posted of how it went, my dates are no longer that flexible as I have pre-booked the flights back otherwise I wouldn't of minded going in the same direction even if it was a few days apart.
