Campsites in BG

Postby JackieAndAndy » Fri Feb 16, 2007 1:49 pm

Thanks for the information, Burnsy. We have seen a lot of "campsites" in BG that appear to be a collection of wooden chalets, but not much else. (Presumably we didn't pass the real ones on our travels.) The web site you mention will give us chance to go and view some of the opposition!

Although we plan to have, say, 3 or 4 static vans, we intend to cater mostly for the touring market. We need to have somewhere to live ourselves, whilst we build the infrastructure, so we will use one of the static vans for ourselves.

Thanks again,
Jackie

Jackie keep me up to date with how you're getting on. If I can help with shower block design and brown water waste points I'd be happy to help.
Disabled B&C facilities as well as wet rooms/level access showers is my main area of income, so if you need help or advice feel free to contact me at any time. Depending on workloads (just taken on another major contract) I can help with most things up to build.
Sorry I'm not in BG to offer hands on help but that'll come next year when hopefully we'll be in temporary residency.

Our wishes to your success and you know were here if you have questions regarding shower/wet facilities.

Regards.

Gavin & Helen.

Something seems to be happening on the tourist accommodation grading front. With acknowledgments to Sofia Echo:-

NEW HOTEL CLASSIFICATION TO BE INTRODUCED IN BULGARIA
09:00 Fri 23 Feb 2007

State Agency for Tourism (SAT) planned to suggest amendments to current hotel classification.

The agency would probably be ready with the suggestion in March 2007, medaipool.bg said.

Apartment buildings will be classified as hostels, SAT said. Vacation settlements built near golf and spa centres will also receive rating. Their categorisation will vary from one to three stars.

The new tourism accommodation regulation will define the concepts of a room, an apartment, an apartment building and a studio.

Mayors will receive the authority to rate family hotels, boarding-houses, guest houses, hostels and separate apartments with one to three stars.

Some requirement for specialised hotels will also be changed. Business hotels will have to have internet access in each room, while spa hotels will have to announce information on the content of all cosmetic products that they use, mediapool.bg said.

The rating will be termless, but local authorities will verify periodically whether accommodation meets the requirements for the rating.

Time to start buttering up the Mayor, perhaps?

I think if building regulations aren't controlled now then golf investment is a no brainer.
Camp sites by nature (pun intended) are free from the hell hole of unrestricted building plot regulations where-as golf courses (as on the dreadful costa's) are full of clone buildings with sad orange people congregating.

I think some sort of building regulation similar to what NZ have in place restricting 'storey' size would be advantageous and not only to investors, but for the areas natural keeping and the spread and encouragement of diverse community spirit.
