CHRISTMAS BAZAAR IN VELIKO TARNOVO

Postby ChrisF » Thu Dec 01, 2016 1:11 pm

The traditional Christmas Bazaar in Veliko Tarnovo opens today, December 1, 2016 in Park "Marno pole". The park will be decorated with festive decorations and attractive lighting Around a central promenade will be 25 houses - pavilions for business, and children's attractions with a Ferris wheel and carousel.
The bazaar is based on the popular and traditional format of Austrian Christmas Villages designed to create a festive atmosphere with Christmas spirit and is organized by the Municipal Tourism Agency "Tsarevgrad Tarnovo." In the houses throughout December there will be handmade gifts, Christmas decorations, toys, souvenirs, works of arts and crafts, seasonal goods, confectionery, culinary delights and mulled red wine.
One of the 'houses' will be manned by the youngsters and staff of local Detchka Doms and will sell crafts made by the young people themselves. Please support them as you will not only boost their self esteem but also provide a little pocket money for the children themselves

The British Carol Service will be held as usual at the bazaar.
It will take place on December 12th between 11.30 and 12 noon, then expats are invited to VT Municipality building to have mincepies with the Ambassador. Please EITHER register your attendance on Evenbrite (see the Embassy FB site) OR let me know if you are coming, so there will be enough mincepies for everyone!

On Monday 12th, at 11.30 there will be a Carol Service attended by the Ambassador in Marno pole park (the site of the bazaar), and afterwards British expats are invited to VT Municipality to meet with the Ambassador - please register your attendance with Evenbrite (see the Embassy page on Facebook)
Unfortunately, due to a lack of communication a second Carol Service has been planned for the same day. It is at 3 pm in Jambalaya, which is above Technomart (near Praktiker) so if you can't make one maybe you'll make the other.

Due to the tragic events in Hitrino and the national day of mourning that has been announced for Monday 12th December, the carol singing that was scheduled for 11:30 in the Veliko Tarnovo Christmas Bazaar has been cancelled.

Instead the Ambassador invites all of you to join her for mince pies at the Ritual Hall of Veliko Tarnovo Municipality from 11:30 - 13:00.

Please, also be informed a collection box will be put in place to raise donations for the victims of Hitrino.

As far as I am aware, the second Carol service is going ahead as planned.
