Hellas Sat 2 (39.0E)

That would be a tad left of the Sky position

I've been trying for a week to get Bulsat and i just cant find it (Hellas2), i've tried everything (dishpointer/lyngsat etc etc) I've used a compass and sat finder, infact i've found many satellite's while searching but not the 1 i'm looking for. I have a 110cm Triax dish and a "Strong" receiver, nothing!! The elevation is stated as 19' and direction at 134-136' from North (depending weather i use magnetic or true) from my location, N-East UK.
My question is (HELP), i understand the direction, but the elevation????? If i use the marks on the dish, 19' is pointing downwards, so is 19' up from 0', if 0' is horizontal, and is that the dish angle or the LNB leg angle?? Should i disregard the dish marks? Help!!! i dont have much hair left ;-)

Hi, i understand your frustrations all too well, i got mine set up using a sat finder and it didn`t find it straight away, i had my son watching the signal strength meter, nipped it up when it was strong, then looked to see if it had found the satellite, we done this many times until we eventually got it!

menu, utilities, signal meter

Done all that, as far as I'm concerned I'm pointed exactly where it should be, I realise I'm looking for something the size of a 50p piece in the sky tho i can find again and again Hotbird, Astra2b/1e no problem using my compass and tuner, I'm thinking the signal is too weak to harvest up 't'north.

I know for a fact that this works perfectly well in Scotland. My mate lives in Fife and it's as clear as any normal picture.

Best of luck.
