Apartment Tax

Postby johnjay » Mon Jul 17, 2017 3:12 pm

I understand that there are two annual taxes apartment owners must pay.

1. The annual property tax
2. The annual council tax payable against your Bulstat Number.

The arrangement was that our management company was paying the property tax and many mistakenly thought the company was also paying the council tax.
It turns out that the management company has not been paying the property tax dispute taking our money for it and it seems doubtful that they were ever meant to pay the council tax.

Many apartment owners are no longer using their apartments so are not visiting Bulgaria.
Is there anyway they can pay both taxes from the UK. As due to the management company they are now very suspicious of POA

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

My wifes sister in law used to pay our bills but have fellout, so after giving us the keys back, and telling us to get on with it, probably thinking we couldnt manage..we went to the bank with our account numbers for the water and electric..and the bank pays them for us, they then text my wife with the amount paid, this is with Bulbank..the council tax ( now at 84 lev each ) is payable in July/August when they know we are there and do that at the town hall/council building..so always a way around it..oh and the internet and tv package is just a visit and is now only available on a 3 month minimum..which covers the family should they need..we get them to pay instead.lol

We have set up for our bank to pay the council tax, along with the water and electric, we just make sure there is always enough money in the account

Cheers
