Cartridge sized gas for self contained gas ring

Postby sleepdays » Tue May 05, 2009 2:04 pm

I took one of those self contained gas rings out by car but have now in need of the gas. It is the size of a small spray can and contains 7.8 oz (220g) of Butane. It has a small cut out in the locating ring and connects /disconnects with a lever on the front before lighting. Are the refills available?

Very doubtful that you can match any UK LPG. The Bulgarian versions are readily available and I would just start again and forget the UK model.

Sound like the CampinGaz CP-250 (although specs are slightly different).

We couldn't find them anywhere so we picked up a cheap pack of 12 when we were last in the UK, from Argos.

It will probably take as many years to get through them so, if you are nearby and they work for you, you can have a pack of four for cost price. PM me if you are interested.

Camping Gaz or any other similar type will definitely not be allowed on an aircraft. I have enough trouble getting my lifejacket canister through, even though it is the same as the canister on every life jacket on board the aircraft. So be warned do not even think of taking Camping Gaz
