It is official now that it costs 2 lv to set up a company; I just can't find a relevant article.

It is true that this decision has been taken and approved. But this is not yet a fact as it is not published in Official Gazette. So, it will take some more time until this act enters into force. Companies are still set up with a share capital of 5000 lev at the moment.

Hi, :D
2 levs will be the minimum company capital if you want to set up a limited company. The company formation does not cost 2 levs. In addition most banks require higher minimum balance for the company bank accounts and you need to deposit your capital into a capital raising company bank account until the registration process is completed. Plus there are the bank charges for the bank transactions and account maintenance.

Hi Andrew,

I have just checked with our accountant - she says the 2 Leva company formation capital was introduced in Sept 2010.

Hope this helps

Yes, I can confirm this. But you need to consider fees and taxes regarding the company registration.

Could that mean that the 4,998 leva excess in a company formed before September 2010 is now accessible?

Just a thought.... :D 8)

It has always been accessable, you just need to keep a little something in the account to keep it in good credit.
