Can anyone please advise me. I have read all the varying comments about registering at the police station, but cannot work out what the correct proceedure is.
I am travelling for the first time alone wiyh my little girl and a friend in October to stay in our apartment.
Previously my husband was with us and we have all stayed in a hotel that took care of any formalities.
I am anxious that I don't make a hash of by not reg. if needs be, but alternatively I don't want to trail to the police station if everything has changed, daughter and friends in tow.

I know that in Yambol theyy no longer require registration, but it seems to vary depending on the region.

I have just got back after 2 weeks and didnt register as couldnt be bothered and had no problems leaving, the couple infront of me had there slips from the hotel and passport control didnt even bother looking at them.

So its upto you if you want to but not all areas accept registration anymore as Phil said.

You do not say what area you are in.

Registration is no big deal. You just have to turn up at the local police station with the right documents.

It helps if you speak Bulgarian or go with someone who does.

Registered twice during the Summer in local tourist office in Byala. No big deal, paid 1 Lev each and the young girl who registered us was very efficient. Leaving Bulgaria at two different times we were never asked for our registration documents but I was still glad I had them in case we got an immigration official who was also efficient. Until the day I,m told by either Bulgarian Immigration or thier Dublin Embassy that I no longer need to register then I,ll continue to do so. Peace of mind is a wonderful thing.

Leaving Varna airport two weeks ago they did check our registrations, which did surprise me as usually they dont bother. Maybe I am a bit shiftier looking at that time of the morning.

We just registered at the office on our complex with the passports and they gave us a piece of paper back, no hassle, no bother, better to be safe than sorry, if they check it at the airport then they check it, at least you've got the relevant paper work then.

No, we registered in the Laguna office on the Denevi site with just the passports and all they did was ask us where we where staying that was it, no probs.
