The my bulgaria visa guide

Postby mariela » Mon Mar 15, 2010 5:39 pm

MOD, on Part 8 it is mentioned that "After five continuous years of residency in Bulgaria using one or more Long Stay Certificates you can apply for Permanent Residency. Under certain circumstances such as marriage to a Bulgarian Citizen, you can apply after a shorter period. "

What does permanent residency mean? another 5 years after residing here for 5 years before? Or do you have to get 2 lots of 5 year long term stay certs before you are allowed to stay here permanantly?

Any help would be appreciated.

Residence cards can be got from any migration office.Just fill in the form which is partly in english. They take your photo and you pay 18 levs Plus tax. You then have to wait for one month for it to be processed end of story. The card contains all the nessessary info and lasts 10 years. Got mine two weeks ago no problems. The old white card is now obsolete. The new card can also be used to enter any EU country without passport

Hi superlube, you may find posting on the following link more useful, although some of your info doesn't correspond with some other members' experiences! Probably depends on what area one resides in...!

Those lovely Mods are just being polite again ! Just about the only correct statement in that post is that you can get these cards at any immigration office

You cannot use the new card to cross the BG border - unless you are a BG citizen.
