Bulgarian passport

Does anyone know the criteria for a UK based British citizen getting a Bulgarian passport?

I have been married to a Bulgarian for 12 years.

I Woke up this morning as the only member of my family who is not a member of the European union. I want back in!

You have to pass a language test plus the BG Doris

It's reassuring to read that Boiko Borisov is open and welcome to British Bulgarian residents asking for Bulgarian citizenship. However he did not say whether the applicants would still be required to give up their UK nationality. I would guess that most Brits would be very reluctant to do this.

as ChrisF says correctly you do have to give up your UK citizenship and with it the 40 years of bridgebuilding

to add insult we may no longer be entitled to 5 and 10 year long stay residence cards

And as Mat points out the EU will not make things easy for the UK and Eastern Europe in particular who have been scapegoated so often

a possible problem if one did take up Boikovs offer would be a future break up of the EU
