I went to the local doctor and he found me the brand name of the medication I wanted.
So I would go to a clinic and find out.

Sodium Valporate is an old drug...I'm surprised it's not available in Bulgaria.
It may be the 'chrono' (times release) bit that's the problem.

It's not a drug I'd expect to find over the counter and may well need a specialist prescription.
Neilmay's right...find a doctor or medical clinic and ask there.

People over here have epilepsy, I know a man who's wife suffers with it quite badly. She is on several medications for it, so obviously there is medication for this problem, but maybe you will be given a drug which is similar to what was prescribed in the UK. Find a good English speaking doctor in BG and Im sure he will be able to give her the required prescription for the chemist.

Is your friend coming out here to live, or just for a visit. If its the latter then she should be able to get extra supplies from his/her doctor in UK to cover the vacation.

OK....
Just found this website.

http://bda.bg/register/drugs/details/m11165d.htm

I haven't translated it all but clearly sodium valporate is availible in Bulgaria, under the trade name 'Depakine'
I can see Chrono on the list, though not in 300mg. As you or your friend will know you shouldn't split chrono type tablets.
This list may not be all inclusive, it may be another supplier will have the 300mg tablets.

Good luck
