I would like to congratulate the Mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov who has won a second term (despite all efforts from Ckat TV to discredit him) with what is looking like a historic landslide victory (exit poll @70%) anyone who visits Burgas will have noticed the huge transformations, the future is very rosy indeed.

Taking the goat. Election 2011

From: ... and-a-goat

"The village of Novo Zhelezare grabbed national attention on Bulgaria’s 23 2011 presidential and municipal election day, thanks to a goat daubed with a ballot number, allegedly in support of a mayoral candidate.

The goat, wandering through the village with the number daubed on it, constituted electioneering, forbidden on election day, so rival candidates alerted local election authorities."

Interesting article, though what that has to do with a thread about a Donkey I will never know.

That clearly should have it's own thread

Dimitar Nikolov? Mayor of Burgas?

Is he the guy who, with a couple of mates, shot a deer in a wild-life reservation near Burgas?
They were found, each armed with a shotgun, by the body of the, 'just shot' deer, but got off the charge by claiming they were looking for mushrooms.

I guess there must be some pretty scary mushrooms around Burgas.

I'd have voted for a donkey. At least they don't carry guns.

How many votes did the donkey get?

Hay, not a bad idea, perhaps Varna requires some carrot or stick management. However, if the Donkey won, I wonder how long it would take before we become saddled with stories of a carrot scandal, luxury barn built on taxpayers money, Donkey Mayor awards prestigious Golden Sands beach walks to his mates etc.

I guess if the vote was close then, folk could say that the Donkey won or lost by a nose.

Enough flippancy over such a serious issue, time to hoof it.
