Varna's Restoration Looking Good

Postby poulton » Tue Sep 15, 2015 10:14 am

Following my recent visit, I too noticed some big improvements to Varna centre, sea gardens and seafront since my last visit, nearly 12 months ago.

Traffic is OK ....Definitely not like Indian traffic or driving ...When its not July or August then parking is a real nightmare..

But it's not just Varna, it's everywhere! I passed through Yambol yesterday and the center there is having the old, cracked and disintegrating, communist era checkerboard paving ripped out, to be replaced with new modern style paving slabs and euro-tiles. The same in Chirpan and probably scores of other places I haven't visted. Many of the village centers are also being upgraded in the same way.

This must be good I tell myself; but some of the once-beautiful semi-wild parks seem to have lost all of their character. The paths all seem to be wider, and the horticultural areas smaller. Hopefully the starkly new coloured cobble brickettes will blend in as the years go by.
