BULGARIA AND JAPAN TO ORGANIZE A BUSINESS FORUM IN 2017
It is planned to take place during the Rose Festival in 2017.
In 2015, our country was visited by a total of 12,362 Japanese citizens. For January-August 2016, we welcomed 9,263 Japanese tourists, a 16.5% increase over the same period in 2015.
Bulgaria is popular with Japanese tourists mainly with rose and yoghurt and this should be used to present other forms of tourism, said Hissauriki Fujii. According to Minister Angelkova, organizing a business event during the Rose Festival will be an opportunity to show this unique event to more Japanese tour operators and to present the enormous cultural and historical heritage of our country. "Some of the most iconic and impressive objects of Thracian culture are also in the Rose Valley, which should also be shown to Japanese tourists," she added. Deputy Minister Fujii supported the initiative and committed itself to helping to implement it
ONE OF THE BEST INVESTMENTS FOR TOURISM IS IN CAMPING. [Well not really as at present only 27 camp sites in Bulgaria and the authorities are only considering allowing camp sites to open for a month; unless this is a bad translation and means you can only camp for a month.]
But Macedonia and Greece, for example, have 60 and over 250, respectively and Bulgaria is still talking about expanding into this market.
