new writers group

Postby susiepuppet » Sat Nov 19, 2011 9:48 pm

Hi
A new writers group in the Harmanli / Svilengrad area. first meeting the last Friday in January 2012 and then once a month at different area venues. to discuss and support each other as budding writers of books / plays / scripts and poetry.
No fees, just we all pay our own expenses for travel / food ect. All nationalities welcome, it is not an `ex-pat` club.
Homophobics, bigots and racists would not be welcome though.

Anyone interested please PM me x

Hi Susiepuppet, I’m in the UK, but I’ve written six books, though only one has been published, I've also had 73 poems published in different magazines around the world. I was also editor of a short story and poetry magazine for 5 years until it closed down due to lack of funds.

Drop me a line if I can help you or your group in any way.

John

Do you plan a test to see if potential members are PC enough?

And pedantic enough to use apostrophes.

Do tell - where would these apostrophes go?

Come on folks, bullying comes in many forms.

You may not like what someone has written, but if you are going to make remarks about it, then do so in a correct manner and not making snide comments that could well drive the member away from the site.

Silky, if someone is planning to "write", even as a hobby, then they are going to get plenty of brickbats to go with the occasional bouquet. ;)

I'm sure that Susiepuppet won't be put off by any comments, "snide" or otherwise - although it is indeed an intriguing thought that someone would be required to demonstrate their PC credentials before joining the august body under discussion....

Seedy, point taken. I've been writing for ages and I still cringe when I read my first draft and see all the mistakes in it.

Good luck to you all in the group. I think it's a great idea. :smt023

Sounds good, and wish I was nearer. I used to write for a living years ago, mainly short stories and stuff. Good luck with it.
