Resen is a great place we have lived here for the past 16 months, the hole village knows we are Scottish and have done there very best to look after us, we have opened a guest house this month and the village provided dancers and singers, presented gifts and even sent a couple of waitresses for the opening party, the mayor also provided a large workforce to help clean up the area outside, we have gained there respect and they ours.

as for change - bg cant stay in the past, we like other businesses employ Bulgarians, that cant be bad.

Resen sounds like a great place,it's nice to know you are employing some BG's.I think it's what a lot of us would like to do at some point in the future.
Many of us Brit's have been drawn to BG becuse it give's us the opportunity

I wonder, do you know if broadband/ADSL Internet connections are available yet in Resen?

I assume there is no cable TV/Internet there but wondered if the local exchange is up to broadband yet or if any plans for that have been mentioned?

there is cable tv in resen, however we went for satelite, (more english channels).
internet is wireless and works ok most of the time.

What sort of connection speed do you get on the wireless connection and might I ask what sort of monthly cost is involved (and set up if a special tranmitter/receiver other than a standard WiFi router is needed)?

dont know that much about computers however it says speed 10mbps but it shows that when its going fast or slow.

cost for 400leva to instal + a fee every month aprox 20 leva.

So you have been in Resen for a year or so? How do you find life there and whats the access like by car in winter when it snows? Can you still drive to VT OK?

I had a look at your website, congratulations, it's all looking good.

Are there many other Brits buying or living in Resen that you know of.... I am looking at moving there long term probably in 2008.

yes we have been here 16 months now and we dont ever look back.
winter is no big deal, no north sea wind and if the temp drops its only for a few days at a time, u could be having a bbq on xmas day, no t shirt but not coat and scarf, no probs with the roads to vt year round, dont think that u will require a big big freezer to hold out the winter, you dont.

there are two english couples + one scot/eng couple + ourselves family with two kids.

there is a number of holiday homes, of which we were invited today to one for a few drinks, good hosts as we only just got home.
