Golf Course in Bansko ??

I have read in a couple of places that a golf course is planned in Bansko to be built to open in 2007.

I have however not found anything online to back this up formally e.g. developers website, etc

Is anyone aware/able to shed any light on this?

Have just returned from Bansko & have been to site of golfcourse with a developer & have seen plans. There are a couple of JCB's on site, but no actual start yet from what I coulsd see. If it comes off it will be a wonderful addition to the area. The land is now obviousely getting snapped up around the area by investors/ developers etc.

How far is the golf course from the ski lifts anyone know?

Around 10 kms, give or take. On the edge of Razlog. ie. you could have an apartment there and do ski and golf (with car) - I'm sure public, or minibus, transport will take off as soon as there is a demand.

You have to use day-glo orange balls, of course (apparently, I'm not joking).

Actually, the length of the golfing season is affected by temperature not for the players but for the grass - it won't grow in temperatures less than 10 degrees C. If the grass won't grow, divots won't regenerate and the place will degenerate very quickly. Up there in Razlog, that's probably from November to May, but then skiing is from January to April.
