Fishing Matches

Postby Slaphead » Sat Apr 03, 2010 5:03 am

Our lake in the Varna region is being re-stocked at the moment and as a result, is closed for fishing to the general population.
However, the fishery managers have given me permission to hold fishing matches.
Is anyone interested?
If I can get up to 10 people interested, I'll organise it.

hi
My partner and one maybe two others will be up for some matches,
where is the lake?and what are they stocking the lake with?silver fish or carp. Are the matches mid week or weekend?he works during the week but will probably blow in work to go fishing,
if you let me know the dates that would be great
all the best

We're getting close, about 8 interested so far, a few more would help.
The lake is between Devnya and Provadiya, approximately 40K from the center of Varna.
The re-stocking consists of tolostolop, byall amour (grass carp) and sharran (carp). There are lots of taranka (crucian carp) already in the lake. Ideal pole fishing size fish too.
As regards when, it depends on getting enough interest to make the effort worthwhile, 10 would be a good minimum. I wouldn't restrict it to weekends, if people are available midweek, great, if not, weekend it is. i.e. I'm flexible.
I wouldn't want to hold the 1st match until one week has passed after the next restock which is programmed for this Thursday, but hey, this is BG.
Ask around and see if any of your buddies are interested. We can provide bacon butties, coffee, tea, stuff like that and for those dirty stinking boozers amongst you, we have a drinks licence.

Excellent and thanks.
I think we have enough numbers now so watch this space.
If there are any dates to avoid in the near future, let me know.
As soon as I know the restocking has gone ahead, I'll schedule the first match.

As I suspected, it was a Thursday for the restock and not the Thursday as stipulated. Anyway, I'm assured it will happen this week so don't get your hopes up.

I am pleased to announce, the majority of the re-stocking has now taken place, more small carp to come in the near future.
This enables me to say, Saturday 22nd May for the much awaited match. (Well, much awaited by me and one or two others anyway).
I'll dream up some times, rules and stuff over the next day or two and post them here.
If you're interested and intend to take part, drop me a pm. If you know others who may wish to have a bit of fun, get them to pm me.
There will be an entry fee of 10 Lev per head, all to be paid out in prizes on the day.

Watch this space.
