Bulgarian Tenis Player

Oh dear she has just lost in 3 sets to the seeded Russian. She played a great first set and then ran out of steam a bit, however the BBC coverage has said good things about her and they expect her to go on improving. She showed great temperament and conducted herself beautifully! She was a credit to her country, go girl!!

cheers

Yeah Sveti was looking good after winning the first set but too many errors crept in and let Vera back into the match . She didn't look overawed by the occassion though and with many years left in her yet she should have a good future . A young Bulgarian guy won Wimbledon boys tournament last year , can't remember his name , but maybe another one for the future . Tim .

What a shame, I'd love to have seen her in the final. Maybe next year?

I wouldn't call Vera Zvonareva a 'big un' its the first time she's reached a Grand Slam final and she was only seeded 21 ; Sveti had already knocked out the 'big un' Venus Williams . Sveti was going for her shots but started to miss to many and too many first serves (her second serve needs work) but she's only 22 and has plenty of time to become a 'big un' herself . She did well !

WIMBLEDON 2011

Tsvetana Pironkova got seeded(32) this year at Wimbledon , and , having won her first 2 matches , is currently playing a 'rematch' against 2nd seed Vera Zvonareva , who she lost to in last years semi-final . The match is being shown live now on TV+ (channel7 on Bulsatcom) and Sveti has just won the first set 6:2 .

Yesterday Bulgaria's young guy Grigor Dimitrov (who was junior Wimbledon champion 2 years ago) put up a good fight against Jo Wilfred Tsonga before losing in a 4th set tie-break . He looks to have a fine temperement for the big match , and at only 20 should look forward to a good career as well .

She best the number 2 seed - strange how the Bulgarian commentators voice did not change - no increase in emotion at all - or did I miss something...
Cheers

Yes , Sveti got her revenge for last year , but it was a pretty easy win really , maybe that's why the commentator didn't get excited . The commentator yesterday (dunno if it was the same chap or not) got very excited when Grigor Dimitrov was in a real struggle with the mens 7th seed . Ironically , Sveti will now have to play Venus Williams again , who she beat in last years 1/4 final . It's a bit of a tall order , but lets hope that she can do it again . Tim .
