I have to agree the niky hotel is very good value for money, we stayed there many times over the last 2 years and always had nice rooms and good service.

I have stayed at the Hotel Lion, it is really nice, very clean and the staff are all friendly. And best of all it's not too expensive. Does it have to be in the centre of Sofia or can it be in a village in the Sofia Region?

Hi
We stayed at HOTEL MAXIM, rooms were first class even had a sauna in the room, cost was 60 euro per room per night, only 15 min walk from bus station and a taxi from the hotel to the airport was 7 levs.

Hello everyone, were thinking about taking an EasyJet flight to Sofia in May 09 and staying in a Hotel for a couple of nights for some sightseeing before traveling over to Varna/Kranevo, I have seen several positive refs to the Hotel Niky and the website looks good, has anyone been there lately and how close is it to Sofia Airport, is it easy to get to?
As always all contributions are welcomed and thanks in anticipation,
Steve.

hi steve
the niky is clean and comfortable hotel. I stayed there last december for a night and it was perfect for what i needed...a comfy en-suite room before my coach journey the next day. It cost 70lev for a very nice double room and that included breakfast. It's 10 minutes and about 10 lev from the airport and a short walk into town.
cheers

Cheers folks. I had heard so much bad stuff about hotels in Sofia that I never organised a trip. Now you guys have made some recommendations I think I will hop on a train/bus to Sofia soon. I actually quite fancy a slow train to Sofia to see more of the country and the capital.

Cheers again.
