I Want to take a car over to bg & insure it when i get there, do you need to show your policy or can you show a cover note. thanks griswalds.

Hi, All you need to get 3rd party insurance in bulgaria is your car documents (log book) and your ID.
for standard 5 door car roughly 150leva

Hi Muffy,the car i'm taking is not insured i will need to insure it to take it to bg, can you buy enough cover just to get from the uk to bulgaria. cheer's griswalds. :wink:

Hi Griswald, Plenty of companys offer short term insurance for travelling across europe. I used autohome got 2 weeks insurance off them which included breakdown cover etc.

Hope this is more what you are looking for. You need to know the route you are taking so they can have the green card made out for those locations.

thanks for that info,phoned my insurance co they told me cant use my insurance to drive into bulgaria,as there not in the ecu,its like hey dont you ever upgrade your systems,they joined 2007,

Just arranged vehicle insurance through National Farmers Union, Full European cover for 11 mths a year as long as you have a UK address. They even covered our SWB 120 transit after checking with the underwriters, This was after spending 3 hours to various companys passing us onto commercial insurance sites, which wouldnt cover us for more than 30 days anyway
