Just to let to know. Bought my vinetka sticker today. The vinetka prices were clearly marked at the window. They only wanted my name written in Bulgarian as they didnt understand my Western documents

Not quite sure what documents you showed as you can just buy them, bit like a can of coke or whatever, you don't even need to own a vehicle if, for example, you were buying one as a present for a friend.

Very difficult to use on different cars as they have to be fixed/glued to your windscreen and they don't come off again without breaking, well maybe once with a razor blade if you change your windscreen.

As of February 1 2010, motorists driving outside cities, towns and villages without road tax vignettes will be fined 100 leva each. The fine for drivers of lorries with a weight of up to 12 tons will be 500 leva while drivers of lorries and buses with a weight of more than 12 tons will pay a fine of 1000 leva.

January 31 2010 was the last day when motorists could drive around Bulgaria with 2009 road vignette stickers.

Vignettes are sold through the central and regional offices of the National Road Infrastructure Agency, through specialised units of the Customs Agency at border crossings or through distributors, including many petrol stations and Piccadilly food-store chain.

The vignettes are sold with a validity ranging from one day to one year. The annual vignette for light motor vehicles costs 67 leva, while the monthly one costs 25 leva and the weekly one 10 leva.

Road tax vignettes can be bought online from www.vinetka.com. The site, available in Bulgarian and English, is set up by the Vignette Sticker Distribution consortium. Payment of orders can be done via credit card or bank transfer.

Delivery of ordered vignettes, within Bulgaria, is done by courier service and costs six leva. Vignettes are delivered within Sofia the next working day; for the rest of the country delivery time is up to three working days.

I have only just dug my car out been snowed in for about 2 weeks I must get a vignette been told the main post office in Dobrich is not selling them and only other place may be Shell garage. Can anyone tell me if this is correct and how do I find the Shell garage if anyone can help with any advice would be very grateful. I know they extended the time but did not allow for the weather so now I have to pray I don't get stopped does not seem fair I always get it in plenty of time so now it is fingers crossed.

Dont know about the shell garage, i got mine yesterday in dobrich.
Where the fruit/veg market is, if you are standing with your back to it on the main road, there is a raifissen bank on the opposite corner.
Opposite that on the other side of the road is a row of shops up a few steps.
In the middle of those shops is a white pvc door go through there and up the stairs.
Thats where you get vignette.
