balkan flights 4 weeks

Hi Ter here just recieved final invoice from Balkan Tours with two surprises.
First of all they are charging us 30 euros fuel surcharge per person so that makes it 150 euros as there are five of us travelling and flight times have changed from an morning flight to a late evening flight .Is this normal practice as it seems very devious to me.

Whilst I have booked Luton to Bucharest for the summer, I am fast becoming of the opinion that cheapest/easiest way to get to BG is to fly to Sofia (can still be done for about £100) and then make your way to your own area of BG by whatever means - car, train, coach etc. Bucharest may be nearer to the north of BG than Sofia but the cost of transfers or delivery of hire car negates the air fare savings. Varna and Bourgas are frankly out of the question if you're looking for cheap flights.

Just saw XL are going Glasgow/Bourgas from August 3rd every Monday
into October. But no word on Bourgas airport site. Anyone know if this
is correct. Times don't tie in with any other airline.

We shall be doing the Luton- Sofia route in july at £106.00 each return which include extra leg room then get the bus to Varna, alot of travelling but saves a fortune.

Paul.

You will not see low cost carriers flying to Bulgaria until the end of restrictions on Bulgarians entering UK,the only reason they fly to poland is the volume of Polish passengers flying to and fro it is not tourists they are catering for.
