Nick666 is correct regarding Burgas airport which in fact started this checking last season, Also the correct insurance etc you must have even if you say you are not charging for the transfer. The other problem you will have is that people do not like to be transferred in RHD vehicles.
One other thing that you will have to take into account as from last year if you are thinkiing of using Burgas airport is that you will be checked that you are a legally registered company, and anyone that works for you is also legally registered. As said by the previous poster there are many illegal companys that offer transfers, this will and has to be stopped which Burgas airport is now doing. This year all paperwork will have to be produced to get your pass which as yet we still do not know how much this will be for the season.

Just about sums it up. You must have the correct documentation. Not only to cover yourself but, more importantly your clients. A lot have tried to get around the documentation by passing clients off as friends or family.This up until now may have worked, not anymore. Too many cameras at the airports now, and they are checking vehicles.Also a so called friend may be just that,until something happens and then they suddenly, become clients again with an urge to sue. Lots of fines and massive export of money from your bank account.

A operators licence is required for hire and reward, however we were informed by the ministry of transport that a all inclusive with our company where you advertise everything from pick up, accommodation, food, ect till drop off, a operators licence is not required. on saying that the insurance is expensive as is the vigette, vigette 760 lev.

You should also probably bear in mind that the rules are constantly changing , so what might be allowed next year may no longer be permitted the year after that . It might be worth paying the extra now for a LHD minibus , rather than find that you're no longer allowed to use RHD for commercial purposes in a year or two's time . Tim .

I think for long term peace of mind it might be a wiser decision to pay extra for a LHD or look at alternatives like sub-contracting the work.

cant remember the exact cost but between 700 and 800 for the year, 16 seat mini bus with 2.5 engine.

If a vehicle is registered and insured in Bulgaria in the company name I would of thought that it would be covered for comercial use.

Good decision buy the LHD and get the proper license and then stick it to the illegals.I bet you will find a lot of Bulgarian friends this way.
