The cheapest way is by Train(from Gara de Nord in Bucharest).

A single from Bucharest to Ruse(Bulgaria)costs 44lei(£9)-reserved .Takes about 2.5 hours.

To buy a reserved ticket, you have to go to the CFR office, which is located out side the train station, close to the Ibis hotel.Walk to the last desk on the right and the ticket can be printed for you there.

After arriving in Ruse get the bus to Varna. The bus station is right next to the train station,so you dont have far to walk.Go inside the main building and at the very end there is a girl there who will give you a bus ticket for Varna(cost is 16 lev=£6.50)and takes 3 hours.

On arrival at Varna bus station, just ump in a taxi and within 15 minutes, youll be in Albena.

.....or get your car hire company to deliver to Steve's place in Ruse. Then you can drive to Albena. That's what I've done this year.

Baneasa airport is about 3 miles from Gara de Nord train station. You can get a bus(783)on the other side of the E60(main road)and get off at Piata Victoriei(massive square)..the bus is very modern and has a digtal screen, showing the next location and a voice announcement on arrival. The bus is cheap also(1 lei).

As i said in an earlier post you can do a 10 minute walk to the train station from Piata Victorei or hop on a taxi, but youll get held up in traffic jams and it will cost you a few bob.

p.s.The train i got last year, left at 12.15pm and arrived at 14.45pm.Maybe there is another schedule for this year, but you should be able to check this out on a webpage.

Doyler.Your correct with the bus price.Im thinking of the underground metro.

By the way i forgot to say that,if you do get the 738 bus(either from Baneasa or Otopeni)and you do get off at Piata Victoriai then, you can go underground and get the metro to "Gara de Nord"-1 lei.Takes 1 minute.

Forget the taxi all together.
