Last week in the Daily Mail there was an article about the best 5 repellents, Boots coming out on top.

Still scratching like hell though.

Hi Josie,
did it say which Boots product ? The Autan spray, Autan roll-on, or the other stuff ?

Trev

Cant remember, think it was Boots' own make. It was in last week's Daily Mail and we left it with Russ and Karen.

Russ and Karen if you read this post and still have the paper we gave you on Friday (must have been Wednesday's edition) can you look out the insect details?

mozzies

Postby bullador » Sun Jul 16, 2006 4:11 pm

Hi, Avon Skin So Soft, dry moisturizer spray is very good for keeping the mozzies away. I use it all the time when abroad and find it very effective. It must be the green bottle though not the other one.

Hi

Pat, you are spot on (he ha) - Avon is supposed to be the best thing out and it's not even an actual repellant - stayed in the Scotland a couple of years ago and the locals swore by it.

Hi,

This is weird, I was going to post a thread, "Where have all the mossies gone?"

I was in Bg from June 10th till July 9thish and I wasn't even visited by the blood sucking vampyres, that included Sofia, Sliven, Varna, Bourgas, Sliven and back to Sofia.

Came back home to Romania and I now look like a teenager with serious acne 8O

Oh well

(and those of you from Manchester know its the river  )

for people who want to use more natural product on their skin use essential oils as an insect repellent such as rose geranium, citronella, cederwood, peppermint, lemongrass, eucalyptus & tea tree. however the only oils that can be used neat on the skin are tea tree and lavender (lav. not when first pregnant). The others should always be mixed in a carrier oil.

Use citronella candles and burn any of the above oils to keep the mossies away. Lemongrass is very good.

Neem oil is really good but will probably keep the neighbours away as well as it pongs

www.bay-house.co.uk do an inexpensive insect repellent gel

Always check with the supplier before putting on young children
