We completed our medical examinations yesterday. In all, 2 hours start to finish at a cost of 55 lev each. It seemed very efficient to us.
The hardest part was the sanity check, it went something like this:
Nurse - "Are you mad or insane?"
Us - "No."
Nurse - "Have you ever been treated for madness or insanity?"
Us - "No."
Nurse - "That's OK then."
Stamp! It's official, we are normal. And we have a bit of paper to prove it too. Do you?

Slaps.

Did they ask if you suffer from amnesia? What if you are mad and insane and have forgotten? Seems a bit of a black hole to me.

Are you a complusive liar? No. ????????

I'd better get me coat and pop down the pub and think this one through.

Anyway we also know, and have proof that we don't have syphilus (not sure if spelt right) or tubercolosis and that my blood pressure is very slightly high and Slaps is normal

I get married to an amazing bulgarian woman next satarday, we already have been married in the UK, but becoz none of her family or friends could come we are going to get married again. Only a church wedding, we understand there is no reason to ''officially'' get married again.

My question is, i know there are many traditions on the Bg wedding day and i would like to surprise my wife and do some of these for her, to make the day even more special for her. buttttttt what are they?

Many thanks in advance, and i hope you dont mind me crashing in you thread

Tony

Hi izit - congratulations and best wishes for Saturday! Are you in a village? If so, your neighbours might like to make a fuss of you both by decorating a cart pulled by a local horse to take you and / or your bride to church.
There again you may prefer less rustic transport.
Have a great day! :D

My fiancee and I would like to get married, I am British and my fiancee is Bulgarian. I would appreciate any input from anyone who has gone through this. We would like to get married in the UK and what are the procedures and documents involved. Is Gretna Green, Scotland an easier option.
Thankyou in advance

I think that if you look up the Bulgarian Embassy in London website, you will find that you can be married there. Couldn't say about Gretna Green though. Other than that, apply to your Local Registry Office unless you want a Church Wedding. As a Brit though, you will require to have YOUR Banns posted in the area where you intend to get married. I had mine posted in the British Embassy here in Sofia as I married a Russian in Yambol Registry Office. I do not think that it is over complicated for two EU Citizens to get married in the UK, but I guess that it will require some documents requiring official translation on your future Wife's behalf.

The information is all out there on UK Government websites.
