Live in the sticks. Ask a Bulgarian local what they want. Maybe a return to prior 1995 when they had money, jobs and no credit.

Very very true
When I first came to Bg I was amazed at how much of a cash culture it was - and I loved it. The idea that if you could not afford it you didn't have it has now gone. No reward for thrift any more, just go and borrow money

Rocky road to ruin

I'm proud to say that I've never had a credit card or taken out a bank loan . Many Bulgarians embraced the opportunity with open arms , but may well live to regret it now that incomes have been cut . Disallussionment with what the EU has to offer is probably the biggest change right now . Tim .

I was wondering if a new model village was to be built with a proper infrastructure, schools, doctors, police, community and sports centre and JOBS in small industrial concerns and agriculture might show the townies what they are missing!

Is there a village called Utopia in Bulgaria!

Polarisation isn't just an EU thing or indeed a new thing in Eastern Europe. I was in Kiev last year and there were a shed load of Escalades about.

That said, Bucharest 2004, beggars on the streets being passed by folk in Bentleys.

Wouldn't we all like to live in a village called Utopia. I have the next best thing living in a village with limited English( No disrespect) but enjoying my life having to attempt to speak Bulgarian. Fantastic people who have made me so wecome and have looked after me for 18 months ensuring no one has ripped me off because I'm English. Do an airport run, escort from the village as Bodyguard to ensure I get there and back ok. In my mind thats the nearest I will ever get to Utopia.
