Day 1 of my house hunt....

Postby kiwiguy » Mon Jul 02, 2007 5:40 pm

Yep, today was the first day of my house hunt.
For those of you who don't know I was in the hunt for a house in the 20,000 lev bracket in the South west of Bg. Sad to say it's looking pretty grim, :? Basically I'm after something that's sound structurally, ie reasonably water tight & with the doors & windows still in tact. The cheapest house available was just under 40,000 Euro, 80sq meters, sound but needs bringing up to western standards.... So I'm not really getting excited about tomorrows day out

Have you thought about the North West? Vidin region?
You'll get alot more for your money there.

Cheers

Head up north if you're looking in that price range. :)

If you are looking for a house in Cornwall the advice "Go to Scotland" wouldn´t be very helpful...?! He wants to be close to the GREEK border. :)
But maybe it would have been better to look in the internet first.

We can't alwaya get what we want, sometimes we must be adaptable. :)

Only half a days drive from here to the GREEK border.

Hi Kiwiguy
don't get too despondent after one day.
Try Harmanli, I have seen lots of reasonably priced houses there on the www, would need checking obviously for suitability but near to where you want to be, pm or mail me for more info if you want.
Good luck for tomorrow
Nikki

Hey guys,
Thanks for the info & encouragement. I'm not about to give up at this point. Dannia I might try your advice & I know I need to get down there & have a more through look. Of course the big problem is trying to find an agent who you know you can trust to an acceptable level. Isn't it a shame we weren't made with little gauges on our fore heads that went to the red zone when we were telling porkies..... lol I'm not saying that only agents are liars or that this particular agent was, but you know what I mean eh?
