Now that there is nip in the air, has anyone been tempted to light their fire yet, or put the winter duvet on the bed?

Haven't actually lit the petchka yet but just spent the last hour cleaning it, chopping sticks and loading it up, that was after looking at the forecast for the next few nights !

I am tempted!!!!! This will be our first winter in the new house and although I don't want winter, at all, I can't wait to light the fire!! We will also see if it is enough to heat the house through too!!!

Duvet first, then fire :)

We added a second light quilt a couple of weeks ago,, and have had the central heating on all evening at least 3 times - it's cold up in these moutains!

Well Mystic Meg, we all seem to be thinking along the same lines. Today when changing the bed, I put the winter quilt on. Also, and I lie to you not. Pete came round and checked the electric central heating boiler this morning. So thats OK....we are up to speed with Gaz cylinders and will buy a small electric blower when next in town.

Do you think there will be a fire in the bar tonight, see you later.

I lit our fire last night, and I've lit it again today. The winter quilt has been on the bed for a few weeks now.

Lit the SuperSer in the Summer Kitchen last night and still spending most evenings there. House is still too hot for the log fire.
