I second that. Cheap parts, reliable, all mechanics know it, basic, strong, gets places my bl**dy Jeep Grand Cherokee couldn't even in deep snow. :D

With the state of the roads round here, I am glad of my Mitsubishi Animal.
The roads are in bad repair at the best of times, when its wet and you dont know if its a puddle or a three foot deep pothole its a nightmare. Now the Lada, is suppose to be good, but I believe its the lada driver, they have such good memories so know where the local potholes are, they drive in the middle of the road and park where they please. If your memory is good and you can drive like a Bulgarian a Lada is for you.

We have a VW Passat estate...it's 15 years old & has been a fantastic 'work horse' for us,carrying cement/tiles & all manner of building supplies!!

All the locals praise VWs as they last forever and are easy to get parts for...there are a lot in our area so that must say something about them.

Having said that I'd love a Lada!!! :D
