Decided to take an amble around town (VT) today. I know I shouldn't push myself too hard but we just wanted to familiarise ourselves with some of the shops.
Was having a nice time until my stupid legs gave way on me outside the main Bulbank in town and I took a nasty tumble face down in the street.
John and I were amazed how many Bulgarians rushed to help and showed their concern, offering to call a doctor or ambulance. Thankfully apart from a bruised knee, I seem to have escaped serious injury albiet a bit shaken.
I just wonder how many would have bothered to stop had it been in the UK.
Only wish I knew the good samaritans to say thank you.

stop this Bs about the uk , if the same happened there people would have helped .... there are bad things in England but dont think that for 1 minute its any better here , I have lived here for 5 years now and its not so rosy .

My brother in law slipped on ice and dislocated his knee while getting into his car a while back.

He lay there for 20 minutes as passerby after passerby either ignored his pleas for help or refused to assist him.

That would not happen here in Bulgaria.

Up here in the north of England (lancashire) people would have definitely helped you.

In fact I find it hard to believe any part of the country wouldnt have, to be honest.

I am quite shocked by some peoples perception of life in the UK and can only assume that your experiences come from living in some grotty areas, because there are plenty of great places to live where wonderful community spirit exists - there are good and bad in all countries but I am sure Bulgaria is not all rosy nor full of good samaritans! it is sad that you have to move to another country to experience the good things which some of us still enjoy at 'home' here in UK

A Xmas time while shopping in our hometown in Ireland Marymo stumbled and has quite a nasty fall going into a shop. The conditions were icy. Almost at once people came to her aid. Then they informed the manageress of the shop. All in all it was heart warming to see such concern shown but while not taking it for granted we were not surprised.
Though there are any amount of a******s in the world overall there are still more good decent people.

Depends where you are. In small-town and rural Scotland, I know people would help. Ditto in BG - most of it. In Sofia they would step over you.
