Bulgaria's Presidential election any opinions?

Postby Malarkey » Fri Nov 11, 2016 11:01 pm

6.8 million Bulgarians to vote.

Assuming most posters here do not have citizenship. If you could vote who would you want to replace Rosen Plevneliev? and why?

Some of the issues that will affect the result are concerns over the future of the European Union, relations with Russia and the threats from a possible rise in migrant inflows from neighboring Turkey

Here is the breakdown of the first round of voting which was held on 6 November and a roundup of all candidates . The second round happens this Sunday. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulgarian ... tion,_2016

Bulgarians voting in the UK have been experiencing problems with reports of voters being stuck in voting queue for 3hrs.

I think Boyko Borisov stated that he will call an election if his candidate Tsetska Tsacheva doesn't win.

It's Boyko Borisov, Prime Minister and leader of the Gerb party that has threatened to step down, should Rumen Radev win, who Boyko (bless his cotton socks,) portrays (Radev) as pro Russian, of course he withdrew his threat to resign just before the first round stating he was mis-quoted and meant "if she doesn't win (the 2nd round) i'll step down". A veiled threat i think to get people to vote for Tsacheva (who apparently is the perfect candidate, just not so charismatic/photogenic) and keep the stability of the country, all thanks to Boyko's leadership and the Gerb party as a whole.

I have utterly no opinion - all politicians here are simply self serving criminals who see the country as a fat cow to be milked. The political system has been completely subverted by business cliques and organised crime. Who is actually in position is essentially irrelevant.

likewise, no opinion, BG politics seem very confused and Murky and have no real direction, personally I like BG as it is, a haven from political correctness and self destructive champagne socialists who darken western Europe

No idea why Boyko attached himself to the process, but at least he's a man of his word....

That's not entirely true Mat as it still matters who's ass they promised to kiss before they were elected.

Access to the labour market in 27 other EU states. The result has been a huge loss of the most active part of the population. More than a million Bulgarians have left.

This is not Progress.
