I can´t remember saying that the hospice was freezing....... far from it, it is a lovely recently renovated building with lovely caring staff. this from the website -
" Sunny Home - Health " is realized with completely modern materials and tools. The home provides a relaxed and cozy atmosphere for all accommodated guests in a 5-storey building, set in a park of 9 acres with perennial pine and walnut trees. The home has 30 spacious and sunny rooms facing south, with its own bathroom, terrace and TV. Each room has an Emergency Response System by pressing a panic button.
For the safety of the accommodated persons in all premises there is installed fire-fighting system, and in the common premises of the house and around it video surveillance.
The building is fitted with a modern, quiet, silent elevator that provides seamless access to all floors and services in the Home.
The heating of the house is guaranteed by two ecological pellet boilers, and the availability of hot water is ensured by three independent ways of heating - pellets, solar collectors and electricity.
On the ground floor there are kitchen, spacious dining room, washing machine, dryer, boiler room and storage rooms. On the mansard floor is the large living room and four adjoining facilities for interest activities, including a computer room for relatives.
He has family in Bulgaria but they cannot visit every day so I simply asked if anybody living nearby could pop in occasionally for a chat in English, and perhaps take him a coffee from the machine on the ground floor.
