Does anyone have their own WEBSITE? # 1

Postby fruitbat79 » Tue May 30, 2006 2:08 pm

Hi All,

Does anyone have their own website for their house/apartment??

I have been thinking to do one myself in addition to advertising with a letting company, in the hope it may generate a little more interest/business.

Has any other member done this and found it to work, or is it not worth the hassle.

I would interested in other's view on this

Many thanks

It is not too difficult to set up your own website and well worth doing - what else would you have to show prospective guests?

Hi, Yes, without a doubt a property-specific website is a must. This is where people who have a possible interest in something like your place will hopefully be persuaded to choose YOU rather than the many, many others which fit into the broad category.
Be prepared for a considerable slog if you DIY it, or a considerable expense and still quite a slog if you get a professional to do it for you (well, they need all the info from you don't they, and you have to check their work don't you?)
Looking at some of the websites put together by prospective holiday-home landlords, I get the impression that they either can't be bothered to do a proper job, or they just don't have a clue what will help to sell their offering. When these sites are looked at and compared with better ones, they just won't get a look in.
You also need to advertise with a holiday lettings company and get on their website; you just can't afford the sort of money it would take to get your particular website in front of a search engine user.
Best of luck! :)
